Citizens of the Republic of Hout Bay?

We moved to Hout Bay because this is where we found a house to rent on a short notice. Over the past months we have lived here thinking that this is just temporary and that we will soon move to the Eastern side of the mountains to Southern Suburbs of Cape Town.

Today India spent some time in her crèche. She stayed there only for a short time, just to get a feel of it. She liked it so much that she did not want to leave. We managed to get her into the car and we drove to the Dunes restaurant for lunch.

Sitting at the Dunes, we reflected that we are getting more and more attached to and fond of Hout Bay. India going to crèche is just one more thing in favour of the this place.

When we went to see a house in Kenilworth several weeks ago, I felt claustrophobic: suburban plots and roads in all directions with high trees blocking the views. Here in Hout Bay the mountains are everywhere around the valley and the sea is and can be seen and heard. There is this wonderful feeling of space and nature.
