Weekend

There was International Day at Matias’s school on Saturday.

We had some delicious food from different parts of the world: Argentinean pudding, Czech mulled wine, Indian samosas, Indonesian cake etc.

Matias had a go at different game stalls while Milja shopped at the various jewelry stalls.

India came down with a stomach bug and Heikki had to go to the office, so we went back home for a bit of a rest.

Later on in the evening we went to Seija’s and Joonas house for a grand supper, including Finnish kesäkeitto.

On Sunday we had a rest in the morning, as Milja and I had bad headaches.

Heikki took the youngsters to the Hout Bay market. India had a ride on a horse while the others shopped. Milja bought a little zebra figurine to take home.

We went to see some houses in the afternoon, including one in Constantia with loudspeakers on the ceiling on the balcony. Everything in the house seemed to be controllable by some switches and buttons in the entrance hall.

We also saw one of the Hout Bay houses Heikki and I like. It’s not a paradise-house, but close enough. It has the main house and a nice cottage on 1.5 acres of land, next to a river. Milja and Dan thought we should put in an offer there and then, but we’re not ready for that yet.

It was cloudy. Milja and Dan headed for the pool while Matias and I started to study for his social studies test.
