There's one particular thing I find odd about the houses here, besides them not being damaged by the strong winds. It's the number of bathrooms.I find the British norm of 1 bath per 3 bedrooms plenty, but here they seem to go for the 1 bathroom per bedroom option. I'd say having six bathrooms in a six bed house is a waste of space. Especially if the kids like to be washed in the basin.
Even more strange: the main en suite is often in the bedroom itself. Not even around a corner or anything, but right there in the room, in full view of the antique four-poster bed, the beautifully carved bedside tables and the shower cubicle.
