They got the visas!

Both Milja and Dan both got 12 month visas to South Africa!

Thank you to my mother who organised this, and to Heikki who did a lot of the work, too.

My mother, Milja and Dan spent 4 hours at the embassy today (part of the time snoring, I hear).

That left them less than an hour to get home (20 minutes), do the final packing and drive the airport (35 minutes).

My mother had to pop over to the bank and pay a huge deposit, which will guarantee that Dan can be deported from the country at his (or my mother's) cost should he misbehave. This had to be done even though Heikki had already taken full financial responsibility over Dan.

Milja and Dan will arrive tomorrow morning. Wonderful!
