Going for a curry

We chatted with an Indian lady at work today and arranged to go shopping with her. We're not that familiar with Capetonian shops yet, and so we haven't found a proper place to buy Indian food. Mandeep will show us the places where she shops so we can stock up our cupboards and eat something else besides take-away pizza. Mandeep also told us of a couple of good places in the centre of Cape Town for curry.

Heikki had an afternoon meeting at University of Cape Town. Meanwhile, Milja, Dan and Matias picked India up from the creche. We met up at Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, _the_ posh and touristy shopping centre of Cape Town. (And no, it's not a spelling mistake - queen Victoria was here with her son Alfred at some point, not her husband Albert, and thus the name).

We had a tasty curry at the Jewel of India and then had a walk on the boardwalk. I thought it was one of the most beautiful sights I've seen here. There were yachts moored next to the boardwalk and people were partying in some of them. The restaurants had laid tables outside, and so people were sitting, drinking and chatting outside. The sun had set, but you could see the reflection of thousands of lights on the bay's water. It was as from a tourist's dream. I still can't believe we live here.
