In the end, Matias did some 60 hours of homework/schoolwork during his time away from school. He managed closer to 20 hours before the trip, some during the flights and a lot after we'd come back, and so he did have time to enjoy the holidays, too.
From now on, we will take Matias out of school only when absolutely nescessary. I'm not joking: we are really in need of a holiday now, and Matias has a couple of weeks of exams ahead of him, starting on Wednesday.
Heikki just came home from picking the dogs up from the boarding kennels. India got excited when they got home and in the excitement banged Matias on the head with a sieve. Heikki asked India to stop it. India turned to Matias and commanded: "Mateis, go do your homework! (Mateis, mee tekeen läksyt!)"
