Miss Hairdresser

We've never cut India's hair. Today, she crouched behind a chair and cut it herself.

She left a long tail at the centre back of her head, so I cut that off, but otherwise she did it all by herself. She actually did a very good job. It looks as if she'd gone to a hairdresser.

She looked worried when she showed us what she had done, but we all said she looked wonderful. She started to cry just a little bit, saying she was afraid she looked like a boy, but I said she looked like a princess. Then we thought of all the girls and women we know who have short hair. They don't look like boys at all.

While we told her over and over again how wonderful she looked, we also made sure she promised she wouldn't cut her hair again. She promised. After a half an hour, she wanted to know how the hair was attached to the head of her Barbie dolls, so she cut all their hair off.

She also told me she was planning to cut my hair. Heikki thinks we should hide the scissors. If only we knew where they all were.
