Matias's first report couldn't have been any better.
* Maths: "Matias has done very well in math this term and has successfully demonstrated his understanding of all the concepts we have learned this term. He is a conscientious worker who always has his math assignments completed and ready to go. Well done, Matias, keep up the great work!" Mathematics grade: B
* Social studies: "...the class held a trial to see who was guilty for the murder of the Taino native people to foster greater understanding as to the affects these explorations had on the native peoples they encountered. Matias was an excellent jury member and foreman and I was impressed with the amount of notes he took during the trial. Matias excels in social studies and it is apparent that this is a subject he enjoys. His answers to questions on assignments are correct and insightful. It is clear he understands the topic at hand. Well done, Matias!" Social studies grade: B [editor's comment: Matias got a B in the exam, which was one of the two top marks in the class]
* Science: "Science is another subject where Matias demonstrates complete understanding. He was one of the only two students to receive 100% on our last test. His keen observation skills are a benefit during our experiments! :) " Science grade: A
* Matias still needs to work on his handwriting and spelling. Nevertheless, his writing/grammar grade was B, and his reading grade A-. For his last big reading task Matias got 100%, A+.
* Matias also studied art, music, PE, computer technology, drama and French, but he didn't get grades for these. In Drama Matias preformed a family story 'How my grandfather lost his finger' in front of the school and parents. In music he especially enjoyed drumming the African drums.
I'm so proud of my little boffins :D
