India and I have taken care of lots of puppies recently. We now have nine, as one was re-homed some days back. This little chihuahua cross, Roo (after Winnie the Pooh character), had a skin infection. It was first thought she was allergic to the fleas or the treatment, but later discovered she had mange (kapi).
Orphaned puppies are derived of their mother's care and love, so we cuddle them a lot. India and I got mange from Roo and have been itching for several days and nights. Fortunately the microscopic mites won't live on/in our skin for long. I'm looking forward to a peaceful night with no scratching needed, whatsoever.
