The good news is, that it only started raining at 5:30 this morning, which means that we got almost 6 hours of sleep. That's as much as the 3 previous nights put together.
Our roof builders told us there was just one set of measurements that needed to be recorded and then we were off after a two week delay. We were supposed to hear from them in the morning. We didn't.
In the afternoon we phoned the builders. Now it seems, which is hard to believe, that our house is 2 millimetres too close to the border we share with our difficult neighbour. This means we have to ask for his permission for the roof project to continue. And all along our roof builders have said everything is OK and there's no way our project was under jeopardy.
I really, really don't believe this is happening. At this point I'd rather shave the wall than ask for our neighbors permission.
I will go to the council tomorrow to see what is really going on here. I seriously think we're being told a bunch of lies.

"2 mm" !!!
That's really ridiculous! It sounds like they really want to make your life as difficult as possible. Do you know any local people who could help you with this grazy situation? Perhaps they know by experience how to deal with absurd problems.
Good luck tomorrow in the administration!
