Our architect came to show us the plans this morning. The plans look wonderful. We'll submit them at the beginning of the week. We'll also meet up with the roof people at the beginning of the week, so they can go ahead and start tearing the existing roof down - at least the slates. We might leave the structure and just add the thatching on that, which will speed up the process and cost less.
Matias spent two nights at Harrison's house, and India missed him lots. We went to pick the boys up from Hout Bay and drove down to Noordhoek. We planned to go to a safari park there, but as we arrived, we were told the place was shut down two weeks ago. Shame.
We went to Imhoff instead, which was just down the road. The boys, India and Heikki went for a camel ride, and I went around the brick-a-brack shops. We then went to see the reptile park on the same farm. We all held a corn snake, a beautiful, orange 4-year old female.
The boys and India ran around the farmyard, climbed on the climbing frames and India swang on the swings. After some tea and hot chocolate, India went on a short donkey ride. She had a hard time choosing between the dark and the light coloured donkey, but finally chose the dark one. The choosing process seemed very inportant to her.
We took Harrison home and went to our friends' house for the evening. They're a nice Finnish family who've just recently moved here from Italy. They've got 3 girls, and one of them will be in Matias's class once the schools start next week.
