Milja and Dan have been busy emptying Dan's flat in Finland. Milja and Dan will probably move back there after a year in Cape Town. Meanwhile, we seem to be renting it to Milja's dad's friend for the year. (He's one of the guys who played in the band at Milja's and Dan's wedding).
We have heard no news of our house sale in the UK. The full structural survey was done some time ago, but that's all we know. There was a point where I almost said we wouldn't sell the house after all: The estate agents had arranged a gardener to "tidy up" the garden. The idiot had hacked down our wonderful rosebush next to the house, torn away the greenery that was covering (and attached to) the oil tank, with the result of the tank looking bad and so the buyer held back another £1000 from his offer!
We're buying the Hout Bay house in 5 days. We were hoping that the builders would start immediately, but we don't even have any definite plans yet. Our architect had meningitis, the seller then refused her entry into the house (they were cleaning up) etc. I now hope that we'll at least have a roof over our heads before the first guests arrive sometime in October.

Seems that builders and architects are the same where ever you are. England, South Africa, I guess none of them do things when you think they should!
is that some kind of a joke
