Hille, who had been staying with Seija and Joona since the end of last year, returned to Finland. We were sorry to see her go. We'll all miss her. We should see her soon again, though, as we'll be in Finland ourselves in 10 days.
One of the boys in Matias's class is returning to the US with his parents, and so the parents, Scott and Christy, had a farewell party last night. Heikki and I joined the crowd at Groot Constantia vineyard for some fantastic mulled wine, dinner and dancing. We talked to a nice couple, Paul and Stephne throughout the evening. They have a boy who's Matias's age, and we talked about going walking together to introduce the boys. We should see Scott and Christy soon, too, as they've fallen in love with Cape Town (easily done). They've decided to try and share their time between South Africa and the US, and hopefully they'll return here by the end of the year.
Talking about seeing people again, I got an e-mail from one of my oldest, dearest friends today - Joppe. He was such a good friend, but we lost contact during the years. Hopefully I'll see him when we go to Finland.
