We’ve now finally finished with the move. Everything went smoothly.
Getting Turbo home went much better than I had thought it would go. Matias, India and I picked him up on Friday. We had done the paperwork on Thursday, so the only thing that was now needed was, to get Turbo de-flea’d. They sprayed him at DARG, but this means we can’t wash him for three days.
Matias spent most of the day out in the garden with Turbo, who wagged his tail constantly for approximately six hours. We gave him Megan’s airplane-crate for his doghouse, and a new fleece as a mattress. He seemed delighted.
We’re taking things slowly with Turbo. We invited him inside this morning. He’s never been in a house before. He was quite afraid, but we all encouraged him. He only came in the entrance hall. He was still wagging his tail, but crouched. He was unsure of his steps, as the hall has a tiled floor. He came in a step or so, and went out again. Then he came in a bit further and went back out. He did this several times, and was braver and waggier each time. In the end he did not come in more than two meters in distance, but this was a big step for him. He’ll get there eventually, but we just don’t want to overwhelm him with anything.
