It was Milja's Prom night on Friday. She was still ill, but got up with the help of painkillers and made it to the hairdressers in the afternoon. She'd missed the practice sessions because of the illness, and the outcome wasn't exactly what she thought. It looked as if she had a pineapple on her head. We had a good laugh and took down the construction.
Milja and Dan drove to Charlotte's house for five. Charlotte's mum had organised a (non-alcoholic, thanks to the school) pre-prom coctail party for the students and their parents. The parents had been invited for six. We took India with us. She was the only young child wich is understandable, really. Not many people have a child who is 19 and another one who's 3.
We chatted with some teachers and parents, and enjoyed the sushi made by this wonderfully talented chef on the patio. Milja, Dan and the other youngsters continued the party at a restaurant in Cape Town, eating well, dancing and gambling with no money. They seemed to have had a wonderful evening. A big thanks goes to Charlotte's and Hattie's mums who more or less organised the whole evening.
