The roof has been up and watertight now for some time. The workmen from the support team appear occasionally to some small repear or finishing task, but mostly the house is quiet. The side walls have been smoothened and the poles have been cleaned. There are still a couple of outstanding issues.
We still not do not have the official building permission! The council has given a permit to finish the roof and been giving us more time to do the paperwork. The company seems be totally incompetent to get the paperwork done properly. Luckily we have an independent contractor to chase things up. Without Charlene we could have been totally at loss with this project. With any luck the permit should be ready this week.
Without daily catastrophes in our house, we have slowly started doing other pending repairs. The windows have been glazed: West side has stunning stained glass windows that let in light but do not open. The east side has normal window glass.
The house needs to be painted.
